Looking...

I could use a few suggestions on something new to try...a one-time attempt at something, a new hobby, new activity, new something.

I've been in a rut. Juggling my crazy schedule tends to result in that--I get so caught up in the daily tasks that I forget about enjoying myself. I'm so restless. I want to travel but feel like my finances don't allow for that right now, so it's on a back burner. I've neglected my friendships and as the years go by, it's funny how much I notice the "difference" in being the first one in my circle of friends to marry and have a baby. And not to have anymore babies. Friendships change over time, you know?

Wow...that was whiny. I don't mean to be whiny. I just need some help in thinking outside of the proverbial box.

There's usually some comfort in reading and cooking, but I'm finding that to be more irritating than soothing these days. Other ideas? Something not too time-intensive since I usually work about 60 hours a week and then have to catch up on cleaning and laundry on the weekends.

You could write something new. Something fantastical.

Or you could get one of those 5,000 piece puzzles to work on.

Or you could participate in "One Book, One Chicago."

Or you can start taking one "artistic" picture every day. (And you could blog it to make you feel better about neglecting that place).

...Or you could start going to bingo with dad...?

Ooh, or you can start learning hot new hip hop dance moves from YouTube! (Guilty).

I'm thinking a new hair-do or a new favorite TV show might shake things up a bit. Sometimes you just need something small to boost you up out of the rut.

If you like spy shows, Burn Notice is awesome. You can get all the past episodes from Netflix. Vampire Diaries is my favorite show (that I hate sometimes) right now.

Or you can watch all the episodes of "Pretty Little Liars" on Hulu and be grateful you're not 15 anymore...?
