Sisters, keep in mind that I am NOT asking you for boy advice. I’m aware that they have cooties, but you know, some cooties can be good for you. (Okay, that was retarded, but give me a break, it’s kinda late, I’m still sick, and it’s been the longest, most interesting day of my life to date -or at least for the year).
BACKGROUD: You see, usually it’s the girl that gives the boy her number, and it’s the boy’s responsibility to call her back. Boys have their own little codes for this, of which I have no idea what the timeline is, but they usually wait approximately 2 days, right? I don’t know, because my guy friends were everything but helpful on this, but that’s okay, because this isn’t really relevant, it’s just the background!
RELEVANT!: Anyway, what happens when this role is switched around? When the girl gets the guy’s number and she’s going to call him? Do girls have some certain little timeline that tell them when they should call? Because I’m think that 2 days is good. I’m thinking if you got it Wednesday, Friday would be completely acceptable if you were “not making plans” for the weekend. And maybe I’m crazy (though I know I am), this makes some sense, right?
I don’t know, just asking for some sisterly insight, and you were all complaining I haven’t written in a bit anyway :-p

Hmmm. I think 24 hours later is OK, especially given the timing of this number delivery. But a Friday is probably good for a longer conversation.

Boys are dumb and we should throw rocks at them. Just kidding. At least about throwing rocks. Anyway, I would think that Friday is probably good, although you want to avoid the trap of looking "desperate" because you don't have plans. I would say maybe call Friday and be like, "Oh, I'm busy tonight, but how about tomorrow or Sunday?" That's my two cents. Oh...and I hope he's cute!
I think that "cute" suits him just fine ;-)
Vici, I already told you: 3 days! Why do you not believe me? I am the closest in age to you of all our sisters, and I only have guy friends. I KNOW how they work. Any time before three days is eager and any time after says "not interested." Three days though, that says, "Hey, no big; I'm chill."
Also, you do not want to call on a Friday! That says you have no plans, Margie! (I forgive you though, you haven't been on the dating scene for a while). Martha, thankfully you are on top of this. Saturday is no good either, unless it's in the afternoon and you're like, "Oh, hey, just woke up and went for a jog. I was thinking I might grab a bit to eat with some of my friends before our plans later tonight" Blah-blah-blah. Sunday is safe though because you're supposed to be lazy on Sundays. Do you get it now? Do you get it?!
P.S. Your cough is gross.
Three days! Why don't we get all Victorian and expect him to "call" at the house and get permission to court her? That'll make him suffer.

And if her survives the "interview" we can all examine his phraseology after he's gone!

And you can call before any "plans" on Friday and end the call before you go out, or EVEN BETTER, call after you get home so you have some sort of conversation starter..."I just got home from blahbity blah"... and you can stay on the phone as long as you can stay awake.

Besides, it's all done and over with now. I called him, and it went well. Haha, that is, as well as it can go with my craziness, so it's swell. And maybe if I like you all enough you'll hear a story in the future...
