Little Women

People are always saying we're just like them.

But were the characters of Little Women as crazy as we are? (I hope you are as amused as I am that you can find anything on the internet these days, including the full text of your favorite literary classics. But I digress).

Although my point is that I don't think we are nearly as easily compared to Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy as some people my claim --perhaps most especially because I am still alive! --I do, nonetheless have a little theory I would like to test out. So, Sisters, which "Little Woman" are you? Post in Comments and don't lie. (Repeats are allowed).

Is there any question that I'm Meg? Remember the cooking scene?

Although I do occasionally have an Amy moment...

Ummmm...I never read Little Women. Can you assign me a role?

Martha...! Go read the book. Right now. Or rent the movie. Or watch the trailer on YouTube.

And someone, for God's sake, please remind Victoria that this blog exists. ;-)

I never read it either....

And excuse me, Sister #3, exactly how many hours are you working a week?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
I'm working about forty, so hush it.

See, Victoria is totally Amy...my least favorite Little Woman...

Anyway, despite my botched experiment, it was proven wrong by Margaret, who has thankfully read the book, but who has nevertheless not identified herself as Jo. (Which I had hypothesized that we all would, adventursome and writerly as we are). Alas.

I'm Jo (although I wish I had more Beth in me, and not just because that's who I'm supposed to be in Little Women). I love being Jo, but I hate it, too. It's hard sometimes.

You are my Meg though, Margaret! I daily rely on you!
